Hamidreza Namdari, the managing director of Alborz Water and Wastewater Company, enumerated the clarification and reduction of apparent water loss of 37,000 water branches in Alborz Province as the most important solution for water stress management.

He further added, “During this year, 8000 lines of worn branches were reconstructed, 20000 broken water meters were replaced, and 2550 unauthorized branches were converted into authorized branches, and 6450 subscriptions were modified alongside reducing water wastage.”

“The above measures were carried out during the first 11 months of the year in the form of a jihadi campaign aimed at reducing water wastage, clarifying water consumption, controlling the reading stage of water meters and facilitating customer services by making maximum use of the capacity of law”, Namdari maintained.

In the end, the managing director of Alborz Water & Wastewater Company, made mention of Alborz as the second immigrant-friendly city of Iran as well as the fact that Karaj is facing severe water shortage crisis. He underlined that, “water consumption and demand management must be considered as a national plan and that the effectiveness of this task is contingent to continuous Jihadi measures, which requires employing the maximum legal capacities of all the executive and supervisory authorities.”
